Christopher Mathewson called me a few years ago during holy week and told me that during the night between Maundy Thursday and Good Friday he meditated on Psalm 88, one of the darkest psalms and the only psalm that ends in darkness. Christopher imagined Jesus praying this psalm that night after being arrested and before crucifixion. With that in mind I put that psalm to music for a good friday service, and recorded it a few years back.
